Background

The concept was firstly introduced when IBS responded to the request of clients who wanted to enhance the knowledge of seafarers on the various aspects of the drills carried out onboard.

IBS has further introduced the Drills Booklet, which contains all required actions to be taken for drills over and above SOLAS requirements.  

The purpose of this Booklet is:

To provide the Theoretical and Practical knowledge of actions that have to be taken by ship’s Officers and crew under conditions which may include :

 

 

Heavy Weather Damage, Main Engine Failure & Personnel Injury

Black Out, Steering Gear Failure & Collision, Hull failure & Salvage

Man Overboard, Search & Rescue & Helicopter Operations

Grounding / Stranding, Excessive List, Cargo Shifting & Piracy

Other  drills as may be decided by the Company

 

The Booklet contains for each Drill Procedure

Regulatory background on each specific drill

Actions to prepare the drill with detailed actions required by the training officer

Responsibilities section for each drill

Drill Follow up actions

Guidance checklist for Drill execution and Evaluation

Company Specific Emergency Checklist

This booklet may be accompanied by our ISM/ISPS Drills company specific CD
