The ISM Drills application

The performance of drills onboard vessels as required by SOLAS, are an essential part of crew training and familiarization.

Although drills are performed onboard at their predetermined intervals, these only cover one drill at a time.

This application addresses the possibility of combined real life situations that seafarers may face and the reactions and knowledge to combat them.

Features

  • Two (2) hours of clear and comprehensive crew training and familiarization. All actions and critical aspects governing the proper execution of a drill, are explained and analysed.

  • Lessons can be completed by the trainee in several sessions at his own pace.

  • Audio speech for every topic and screen to enhance understanding of the lesson.

At the end of each lesson, a real case interactive scenario is presented, requesting answers to questions generated whilst unfolding the case. Thus, the trainee becomes a member of the “virtual crew”, in an effort to assist towards a successful completion of the scenario.

  • Trainees’ results and learning process data are accessible only by Master and/or Safety Officer.

  • Training Certificate printout with pass/failure status for every seafarer.

  • Easy to use for all staff, no advanced computer skills required.
