• Develop, document and finalise the SMS in co-operation with the Client staff in order to make maximum utilisation of existing systems and practices

• Familiarise Office staff and senior officers to the SMS requirements as applicable

• Provide vessel SMS or other related familiarisation material

• Co-ordinate implementation of key SMS areas such as Emergency drill, SMS analysis, follow up of Non Conformities, Near Misses, Accidents and Management Review

• Visit ships under management to conduct drills or training

• Execute office internal audit (prior initial external audit of the Client)

• Pre-assess existing SMS operation in place and prepare client for Class Audit

• Co-ordinate or be present during Class Audit(s)

• Manage project progress and co-ordinate the necessary implementation steps
